The OIC Mission
Say our name out loud, and you'll hear: "Oh, I see." We hope you say it often as you read our books, visit our blog, explore the rest of our site, and come away with new views into the world.
The books we publish may be humorous or serious, contemporary or historic, imaginative or informative, but always out of the ordinary. OIC seeks to redefine the book from a primarily visual experience accessed through print on a page to a hand-crafted, multi-sensory experience that builds a wider view of the world. Surprising visuals—both stills and videos—deepen and enhance the reading experience. Accompanying audio connects music and voices to the subject of the book. Subjects cut across cultures and experiences so that new views spring from the diverse content as well as from the multi-sensory presentation.
OIC books are published as enhanced ebooks, standard ebooks, and in print. Readers using an iPad or other eReaders with audio and video capability enjoy the multi-sensory experience as they read. Readers using a device for standard ebooks or reading a hardcover copy enjoy the still visuals as they read and visit the OIC web site to enhance the experience with audio and video.
Just as OIC books are intended to expand viewpoints, the OIC Moments blog highlights everyday discoveries and insights, and invites you to share yours. From the practical, to the silly, to the profound, we believe this dialog keeps the mind growing and the eyes seeing farther and farther into the world.
